Abstract

The shrines are a reflection of funerary architecture in Laghouat, where this state contains a large number of these historical monuments which is linked to the religious architecture for its characteristics of the architectural elements of Islam. Most of these landmarks are valued for its history in the city of Laghouat, and in the city of Ain Madhi for its religious status. This is what made us focus on these areas in this study. Each mausoleum distinguished according to its location, the period in which it was built, the status of its owner or according to other reasons that give it its identity. In this research we dealt with the architectural aspect of these monuments, we analyzed them and studied their types according to their construction sites and we also studied their architectural elements and finding the mutual aspects between them, we dealt with the decorative elements that characterized some shrines and in the last part of this thesis one case have been studied. In the case, I chose two particular shrines to carry out an analytical study in order to find out the common architectural elements and to study the architectural structure so as to see wether they were built according to engineering criteria
