Abstract

This research determined the idea of the adaptive re_use of the monument or reconsideration and giving rebirth for the monument. The latter was reflected positively on our society culturally, historically, architectully, and economically. the currant state of Dar Bachagha Lakdar in the municipality of Bennacer Ben Chohra was not positive despite of its historical significance and its unic architectural design at that time. This monument sumbolized the richness and multi cultural ideas in that era. There were many functions for Dar Bachagha Lakdar. It switchesd from residence to barracks and that what made it important. Currently, it was in functional stagnation and here it comes our in studying strategy for the adaptive re-use and reconsideration to found a suitable function and even for the neighboring areas. Our passion in that research is rehabilitation of the Dar Bachagha and re-use it as a Guest house looking for the constituent of the era and the nature of society. We tried to achieve the total merger of the monument in its surrounding without loosing or harming its values. We used to applicate the methodology outline suggested by reusing Dar Bacha Lakhdar Ferhat and that was to provide the permanent use of the Dar which reflected positively for the monument and its surrounding
