Abstract

In recent years, the development of systems based on power electronics has led to an increase in so-called non-linear loads which have greatly contributed to the reduction of power quality in electrical grid. For this purpose, the objective of this work is the filtering of the harmonic currents produced by a nonlinear load connected to an electrical grid by associating the functionalities of a Parallel Active Filter (PAF). The studied system is composed of a field of solar panels, a three-phase voltage inverter connected to the grid and a non-linear load consisting of a diode bridge rectifier supplying an inductive load (RL). The Low Pass Filter (LPF) is used in this study to identify the current harmonics of the nonlinear load. In addition, a current control is proposed to compensate the harmonic currents at the connection point while injecting maximum active power into the grid. The results obtained by simulation show the efficiency and performance of the PAF in terms of grid current depollution and power quality improvement.
