| dc.description.abstract | This project represents a closer examination of the international views towards the question of Palestine to be conflict or colonization. Basically, it sheds light on the meaning of the two concepts; conflict and colonization in general and according to the international scholars. It investigates the role of the international bodies of the United Nations in the question and the resolutions adopted since its creation. More particularly, the purpose of the study is to examine both Noam Chomsky and Ilan Pappé’s views towards the question of Palestine and to what extent a misleading of two words may affect world peace. The first Chapter is concerned with the definition of the two key concepts conflict and colonization along with the historical background to the question because it is worth to mention the roots of the issue. The second chapter investigates the resolutions adopted in the UN from 1948 onwards. Last but not least, the third chapter draws attention on the most famous Jews who devoted some of their time to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian issue. This chapter examines and analyses the main ideas exposed by these two scholars. Overall, analysing the international views will allow us understand the nature of the issue from different angles and answer the main question of this dissertation | |
