In this study, a simple and sensitive colorimetric sensor was developed for detecting the amino acid L-cysteine using silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The modification of these nanoparticles with L-cysteine led to their aggregation, resulting in visible changes in color, UV-Visible absorption, and other optical properties. This sensor offers enhanced sensitivity and selectivity compared to conventional optical methods.
