Abstract
The growing demand for efficient and safe energy storage systems has accelerated
research on solid-state batteries, a promising alternative to conventional lithium-ion batteries.
This work presents a theoretical study of solid-state battery technology, focusing on its
structure, operating principles, electrolyte materials, manufacturing processes, and
electrochemical performance.
A comparative analysis is conducted between conventional lithium-ion batteries and
solid-state batteries. The study also addresses the main obstacles to their large-scale
deployment.
The results indicate that solid-state batteries offer significant advantages in terms of
safety and energy density; however, several technological and economic barriers remain
before their large-scale commercialization. These batteries represent a promising solution for
next-generation energy storage systems and sustainable electricity.
