Abstract
Our work is summed up in an attempt to propose a training program for reading for deaf
children who have cochlear implants. The current study aims to:
Detection of reading difficulties in deaf children with cochlear implants.
Trying to find out the impact of the proposed program on the study sample
Knowing the reading skill level of the deaf child.
To achieve this goal, the case study approach was used, where we relied on trying to
propose this program on applying a pre-test that measures the reading level of children with
cochlear implants. On reading, and in the end, a post-test re-application of the reading test
by the author Rasha Hussein (2014), where we took a sample of deaf children with cochlear
implants, whose ages ranged between 7/12 years, and we trained them to read according to
the content of the program, in a specific period of time from March to May 2023. The results
resulted in:
There is a positive effectiveness of the proposed program in improving reading for deaf
children with cochlear implants .
The level of reading skill among deaf children with cochlear implants is low.
There are differences among deaf children with cochlear implants between the pre and post
measurements on the reading scale.
Finally, it can be said that this program can be used or applied to deaf students who have
cochlear implants, in order to improve their reading abilities,
