Abstract
Modern-day slavery and human trafficking have become a widespread issue across the
world today. Practices including forced labor, debt bondage, child labor, forced
marriage, and human trafficking and more are occurring in every country, including the
United States. The following thesis aims to explore the forces and the conditions
contributing to the phenomenon of modern-day slavery and women trafficking in the
USA. The dissertation proofs that modern-day slavery and women trafficking exist
worldwide and in the United States. This dissertation begins by providing a relevant
historical background to chattel slavery leading up to the present-day slavery. By
speaking of modern-day slavery definitions ,its forms has been provided, in addition to
the main causes that led to this phenomenon and showing the harm occurring to the
victims of this enslavement. From the many forms, we focused more on human
trafficking and forms, and causes in addition to the global efforts to combat it. Finally,
another focus was made on women trafficking in the United States by referring to
specific cases of victims from different nationalities to clarify and offer a detailed
insight into this phenomenon
