Étude du comportement mécanique d'un sol compacte à faible teneur en eau

Abstract

This work is part of the general framework for the valorisation of local materials in the Laghouat region (southern Algeria), for use in road engineering. The main objective of this thesis focuses on the possibility of compacting a soil with a low water content and even almost zero. In this context, an experimental study, carried out on a mixture of soil composed of 80% tuff and 20% of calcareous sand. Firstly, the effect of compaction with low water content on the compaction and bearing characteristics is studied. Secondly, the mechanical behaviour with low water content, through simple compression tests and U.U shear tests was measured. Through the results of this study, it has been proved that a formulation composed of 80% of tuff and 20% of calcareous sand, has characteristics of bearing and of resistance to the simple compression and the shear very interesting even with values of content in water weak or very weak
