Abstract

This study aimed to know the role of e-commerce through social networking sites in directing students to engage in self-employment. The study was conducted on students by taking a sample from the Faculty of Economics, Commercial and Management Sciences at the University of Laghouat. We relied on the study model consisting of the independent variable represented in e-commerce with its dimensions (social networking sites, product, customer) and the dependent variable represented in self-employment, and to achieve the objectives of this study we used the questionnaire tool where it was distributed on 102 items. To analyze this data, we relied on the Spss and Smart Pls programs, with the aim of studying the various relationships between the studied variables. The results of the study concluded that there is a statistical effect at the level of morale at the level of significance ≥ 0.05 for electronic commerce in the students’ orientation to self-employment, and the study recommends to contribute to spreading the culture of self-employment and raising awareness of it, focusing on electronic commerce, and supporting the state in directing students to it and spreading the culture of work Free to change the idea of society.
