Impact de la simulation médicale sur l’apprentissage des étudiants en médecine de la faculté de médecine de Laghouat

Abstract

Medical simulation is now recognized as an innovative teaching method aimed at improving the learning of clinical skills among medical students. The objective of this study was to assess students’ perceptions regarding the impact of simulation on their theoretical and practical training, as well as on the development of their clinical skills. This is a descriptive study conducted using a questionnaire distributed to medical students. The initial sample included 201 participants, of whom 3 were excluded according to the non- inclusion criteria, resulting in a final sample of 198 students. The study population was predominantly female, with 167 female students (83.1%) compared to 34 male students (16.9%). Participants were distributed across different academic years: 3rd year (21.4%), 4th year (13.4%), 5th year (21.9%), 6th year (15.9%), and 7th year (27.4%). The results showed that simulation is widely perceived as beneficial for learning technical procedures (97%), memorizing clinical protocols (97.5%), and improving theoretical understanding (90.4%). It also promotes self-confidence (80.3%) and stress management in clinical situations (55.8%). The most commonly cited fields were cardiopulmonary resuscitation, gynecology, and cardiopulmonary auscultation. This study highlights the value of medical simulation as a complementary educational tool, contributing to the progressive strengthening of students’ clinical competencies.
