Abstract

thyroid cancer is a public health problem that requires multiple skills to manage. The place of cytology nowadays is not well established. The main challenge is to rigorously sort thyroid nodules and detect with the greatest degree of certainty malignant nodules in order to propose them for surgical treatment. Our study was carried out in this perspective to evaluate the performance of the cytological diagnosis of our department in the management of thyroid carcinoma. Our series includes 70 cases of cytologies performed in the period from December 2021 to December 2023 and classified in categories IV, V and VI of the 2017 Bethesda classification with a documented histological check.
