Abstract
Through research on the urban heritage in tourism development as a
historical heritage that expresses the nation’s culture and its basic
resistance, Algeria is among the countries that possess this balance of
heritage and archaeological buildings, which qualifies it to occupy a place
among the most lofty tourist places in the world and the city of Ain Madi
in the state of Laghouat sits On these elements of the diverse religious,
natural and heritage tourism represented in the old palace, the Cordan
Palace and the cradle of the Tijani Caliphate. From here we wanted to
study the climate in which it resides and the most important obstacles it
faces, and through that we asked the following main question: How can
urban heritage be a strategic factor in tourism development In the city of
Ain Madi, the answers to these questions were made with the assumption
that:
The city of Ain Madi enjoys great advantages in the context of urban and
tourism heritage.
The urban heritage has been affected by the tourism development.
Next, we concluded the following results:
- Urban heritage contributes to the development of tourism from the
social side by preserving the historical and archaeological character of
the region and thus highlighting the historical overview of the past of
those civilizations that succeeded them.
- The urban heritage also contributes to the economic aspect through the
increase in local income and the elimination of unemployment by
preserving the cultural heritage represented in the traditional and textile
industries and religious festivals that the Zawiya Tijani regularly performs
every year.
