| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a frequent medico-surgical emergency and a major public health concern due to the risk of neurological sequelae. Objective: To evaluate the epidemiological, clinical, radiological, and therapeutic profile of pediatric TBI in the Laghouat region. Material and Methods: retrospective study , conducted over a three-year period, including patients hospitalized for traumatic brain injury (TBI) in the neurosurgery department. Results: The study shows a predominance of mild TBI (72.2%) with a Glasgow Coma Scale score between 13 and 15. Domestic falls are the primary mechanism. Cranial CT scans, performed on all patients, revealed intracranial lesions in 88.9% of them, including extradural hematomas in 13.9%. Management was medical in all cases, with surgery required for 16.7% of patients. The outcome was favorable for the entire cohort (100%). | |
