Abstract
The study aimed to find out the effectiveness of a training program to develop
phonological awareness skills on the reading process of fourth-grade students
suffering from dyslexia in the city of Bilil - Laghouat.
The study sample consisted of 6 students attending Al-Munawar Ali School,
which were chosen intentionally by applying the colored successive matrices test
and choosing a holiday text.
The phonology awareness test, we followed the experimental method and applied
the pre-test and the post-test of the training program, which led to the following
results:
− The effectiveness of the training program for developing phonological
awareness skills on the reading process (deletion, substitution, addition,
repetition) for dyslexic students.
− There are differences in the pre- and post-measurement skills in
phonological awareness, in favor of the post-measurement.
− There are differences in the pre- and post-measurement in reading
performance in favor of the post-measurement
