dc.description.abstractI/Objective: the objective of this study is to determine the prevalence as well as the complications and the maternal-fetal prognosis of pre-eclampsia in order to improve subsequent management. II/materiel and method: the study was descriptive retrospective covering a period of 12 months, which runs from 01 December 2019 to 30 November 2020; this study was based on the activity of The Mother and Child hospital of Laghouat. III/Results : during the study period, 289 cases of preeclampsia was occurred out of a total of 9249 deliveries ,or a frequency of 3,12.the average age was 29 years with extremes of 21 and 45 years .the risk factors are dominated by primiparity (49.82%), and personal history of hypertension( 26.98%), and familial history of preeclampsia (17.99%) The main maternal complications are one case of maternal death, Retro placental hematoma (7,26%) , eclampsia (4,84%) , HELLP syndrome (4,15%), disseminated intravascular coagulation (1,73%) ,on the other side fetal complications are intra-uterine growth retardation (41,52%), prematurity (32,52%), intra-uterine fetal death (12,11%), severe hypoxia (8%) and neonatal death (2,7%). Post- partum maternal evolution was favorable in 91.03% of cases, furthermore maternal prognosis of preeclampsia was also favorable in 80% of cases. However, fetal prognosis according to Apgar score results was averagely favorable in 58.82% of cases (with Apgar ≥ 07 ( .
