Abstract

Palm residues, abundant in desert and agricultural regions, are increasingly recognized for their potential in biochar production, a carbonaceous material obtained via pyrolysis. This study explores the preparation and characterization of biochar from palm bark through pyrolysis at 650°C for varying durations. The biochar's potential for wastewater treatment, focusing on methylene blue adsorption, was investigated using pseudosecond-order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm modeling. Results indicate effective adsorption capacities influenced by pH, adsorbent dose, and contact time. Findings underscore biochar's promise in sustainable waste management and environmental remediation.
